Definition

A certification mark is "a sign or symbol that identifies and guarantees the origin or quality of a particular product; owner may permit another party to use the mark in commerce." [1] Examples include Energy Star and Woolmark (see below). (See Wikipedia entry on certification mark for more detailed information.)
